The Norm Hayward Foundation's first year

We would like to take this opportunity to Thank-you, and update you on The Norm Hayward Foundation. Through your generous support we raised $4,500.00.

There is another $1,500.00 left to provide bursaries in June 2019.

All your support during this difficult time has been overwhelming. It has been a testament to Norm’s character. It has been an extremely difficult time but, we are truly thankful for every kindness offered to us (and there has been a lot – big and small). All worthy of our appreciation.

Amber has decided to continue on with The Norm Hayward Foundation.

She has created a GoFund me page that has raised another $325.00.

Thank-you, for your continued support.

Kind Regards,

“These students were chosen for their interest in a trade and their plan to continue in that trade after secondary school. They exemplified what it means to be a hard worker and showed determination even while facing many challenges personally, academically and struggles with their own families. Maja, Owen and Phillip also successfully completed multiple college Dual Credit courses while keeping up with their studies at OLMC, working at a co-op placement and managing their personal lives. I'd say this is quite remarkable for any high school student. We are very proud of their accomplishments.”

About Norm Hayward

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Norm Hayward on Thursday, March 15th, 2018 at his home in Mississauga at the age of 56. Beloved husband of Cathy Hayward for 26 years. Loving father of Amber Hayward (Michael Goldsworthy) and Jeremy Hayward. Adored by the family dog Hayley. Treasured son of Eleanor Thompson, son-in- law of Margaret McCavitt. Cherished brother of Susan (Don) Hayward-Koehler, Thomas (Lisa) Hayward and James (Leila) Thompson. Loving Uncle to Nicole Hayward, Sydney Hayward, Jessie Hayward, Leigh Hayward, Zane Thompson, Amira McCavitt, Keely McCavitt and Zoe McCavitt. Cherished brother-in-law to Frank McCavitt (Mary). Predeceased by his father Albert Hayward, father-in-law Jerome McCavitt, and step father Keavin Thompson. Norm will be deeply missed by his friends, family and beloved neighbours of Arles Mews.Norm dedicated his life to helping others. Whether it be plumbing, electrical, construction, or mechanical, Norm could figure all of it out, and was always there for friends and family willing and capably able to lend a hand. The Norm Hayward Foundation has been established in honour of his memory. This foundation will provide annual bursary, to be awarded to a promising grade 12 student who demonstrates excellence in a trade they wish to pursue. Nominees must be technically skilled, community minded, and always show a desire to ‘do the right thing’. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Norm Hayward Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
